What is a phytosanitary certificate?
The phytosanitary certificate, also known as a phyto certificate, is an official document. The phyto certificate confirms that the shipment of plant cuttings is in full compliance with all the requirements of its destination country. To obtain the phytosanitary certificate, the relevant Dutch government agency will inspect our shipment.
Only, when everything's in order, and we are in full compliance with the sanitary requirements of your country, the phytosanitary certificate is given. With the phyto certificate in hand, you can be sure that your shipment safely arrives and won't be denied access by customs.
When is a phytosanitary certificate required?
A phytosanitary certificate is always required to export agricultural goods like plant cuttings. We arrange the phytosanitary certificates for plant cuttings to be transported from the Netherlands to any country outside the EU; like India, the USA, China or Australia. Shipments within the EU, don't require a phytosanitary certificate.
Plant cuttings: what other export documents do we arrange?
Aside from the phytosanitary certificate, we’ll also arrange any other documentation that’s necessary to get the plant cuttings to you. For example:
- EUR.1 Movement certificate
With the EUR.1 certificate the import duty is reduced or nil for importers from certain countries who have a trade agreement with the EU. - CoO: Certificate of Origin
When we export outside of the EU, many countries require a CoO. It states the origin country of the products. - Export declaration
The export declaration is necessary for the customs agencies. It's obligatory when exporting outside of the EU.
